The innerspring futon is wonderful new cross over from the world of traditional innersprings. This was made possible by the designing and engineering of something called a helicoil wire that allows the innerspring coil unit to fold and still allow the coils to keep their original shape and form. This futon innerspring mattress is in a league of its own. It has gained in popularity in recent years and months. It has the characteristic of providing a very traditional sleep surface, and it keeps it shape very well with no dips or noticeable impressions. They also sit well when up as a sofa during the day and they are comfortable. They are more expensive than a cotton and foam futon but not by much. Give them a try and see what you think.

Superspring

 
Here we have a total of 8" of cotton with a thicker higher resolution foam topper. The coil is 312 coil size, 13 ½ gauge wire, 4 turn coil, held together with 17 ½ gauge facing helicoil wire. Wrapped with supreme duralator pads against the coil, add the high resolution foam and layers of cotton batting and you have a superior every night sleep surface and/or a comfortable sofa seat. This innerspring is well suited for bifold sofa futons and for platform beds. This product makes a smooth transition from traditional mattress to futon innerspring mattress with comfort and ease.
Coilwrap


This innerspring unit is essentially the same as the Superspring only this time each individual coil is wrapped. This was done by the mattress industry some years ago for two reasons. One of them being with each coil wrapped in its own fiber casing, this cut down on the reverberation from the springs making it a quieter sleep with no sound from the coils. We never did hear the superspring make any sound but the coil wrap theory sounds good. And the other advantage is with each spring in its own case, after years of use "spring sway" is greatly reduced over time. This means that the coil has a greater likelihood of staying in place overtime when it is held within its own casing. So there you have it.
Basic Coil


The Basic coil is a good innerspring for occasional use or for spare bedrooms. It has a basic Legget-Platt 3 1/2 " coil unit topped with 1.2 density foam on either side and layers of felted cotton batting on top covered in natural canvas duck material. It folds well and is easy to use. It is our introductory innerspring unit.
